This is a no rust, straight nice well cared for mgb. It ispretty original car. The radio is after market, but works well. It was repaintedonce and the engine hood is aluminum and not original to the car. The originalowner bought this car in huston texas and drove it to his home in alpine and itlived there all its driving life until it was parked in 1994. I put new tires onit and drained and cleaned the fuel tank and rebuilt the carbs and just got itrunning drives nice but, it will need some more work to make it a daily driver. I have decided to go in a different direction (i bought a lotus) and will sellthis car now.

Rare model year as mg created a 1/2 model toavoid stricter emissions from u. Engine is strong with good compression anddoesn't burn oil. Build date of 11/1974. Transmission shifts smoothly andclutch performs correctly. All switches, lights, gauges, etc. Work, with onlythe speedo having a 5 mph flick at 45 and up (narrowed down to cable may justneed lubed better or routed better, as speedo works correctly by itself). Interior is in really good condition and no rips in seats. Body is solid withonly minor rust above wheel well, and couple spots along bottom of sill but doorgaps are good, and no noticeable dents or structural damage to body. Willrequire a new paint job eventually as existing is wearing off but minimal ruston body with solid floor pan and trunk. Electrical has been gone through andcleaned up and where possible upgraded to improve reliability. Comes with twotypes of tonneau covers one that covers the top and one that covers the wholeinterior.

Very nice older ground up restoration completed a few years back. Pictures and documents included that establish the car’s history. Recent additional work include: brakes/lines, clutch slave cylinder, lights, chrome package, su fuel pump, tires, and so many extras. Side curtains are included. Car shows and drives very well with excellent oil pressure and no smoke. There are two areas where the paint has blistered but does not detract from the car’s appearance (see pics of hood and lower trunk). Seat upholstery and top are excellent. Door panels and carpet are presentable but not correct. The battery compartment shows typical corrosion and will need to be repaired. Also, please view pictures that illustrate hundreds of additional mg parts included in this auction. 3 pallets of parts that include: tranny, blocks (x2), pumps, starter, lamps, rims, gauges, radiator…parts alone are worth a couple thousand.

In keeping with the sebring theme the radio is deleted; however the antenna is installed for future radio installation if desired. I like to describe this car as a new 1957 mga roadster.

Brakes and tyres are fairly new, and the spare is brand new. The interior has a burled walnut dashboard and wooden steering wheel. There is an under dashboard radio with a cd player, dual 12 volt battery compartment with external charging terminals and a kill switch. The seat cushions are new, and the black leather interior is in good condition. The mohair convertible top is new, and has three windows with a zippered rear window. Im the 3rd owner and previous owner only drove 300 miles in 10 years. 1973 was the last year for chrome bumper. The engine runs strong, good compression, starts easily both cold and hot, and does not smoke. Like all mgs it leaks a little oil (very small amount). It has that great british sports car sound and very fun to drive. One other disclosure; the headlight switch needs to be replaced due to some electrical issue so that will need to be fixed by new owner.
